The style of Fes Roc may be compared to a hustle in the rap game but it’s a customize contribution to the listener. Hailing from Plymouth Roc (or Plymoth Road) on Detroit’s westside, Fes Roc began penning rhymes in the 5th grade. In high school Fes Roc was one of the founding members of the rap group F. O. D. (Fingers of Death) with fellow members Mischief, Red, Phil, and Elzhi. Fes Roc and the rest of the F.O.D. members were also a part of Detroit’s legendary HIP HOP SHOP era, along with such artists as Phat Kat, 5 Ela, D.J. Houseshoes, D.J. Dez, 31 Flavors, Biochemists, D12, and Slum Village. During that era F. O. D. stormed the college scene with their single called “#2 pencils,” which became the number one requested song on college radio at that time. In the late 90’s F.O.D. disbanded to pursue solo careers. Fes found other avenues and ways to contribute to the Detroit scene by doing urban promotion and marketing. Although not in the spotlight Fes never stopped writing rhymes. After some persistent urging from his peers, Fes recorded a track for Nick Speed's "D-Tour" album entitled “Glisten”. This landed him performances to open for Little Brother, Octane and Illite. The D-Tour feature scored a guest appearance on former F.O.D. member Elzhi's album -“The Preface”, track entitled "the Science". Also featured on the track "So Humble", off the "Concious Gangsta" album by Big A. With the flame re-kindled for recording Fes co-founded Kic Sounds Entertainment along with members Illite, D-Roc and Zhao-Ski. Fes Roc will be releasing his EP in first quarter of 2010 and his anticipated album later in 2010. Stay tuned.....K.I.C.(keep it classic)
